ephanie and Ezra instantly understood what my vision was for changing my already established (and lovely) garden into something that was more easy to maintain but kept the charm as well as introducing a more Mediterranean feel.  We were starting with one long bed but quickly moved on to include two other beds as well.  I now want them to continue to make similar changes to the remainder of the garden!  Their standard of work is excellent and I love the way that existing plants are moved around rather than there being wastage.  Stephanie has great knowledge of plants and is full of ideas to compliment those that I like myself.  I love every minute of discussing what to do next – cant wait for the spring! One last thing – she has converted me to composting – a huge help to me particularly rather than numerous visits to recycling which are long distances in this county.

"Our small listed cottage overlooking the cobb in Lyme Regis required some thought and sympathy to its location, setting, climate and owners (us!) We have our own ideas and we were quickly able to develop a pleasant working relationship with Stephanie and Ezra. We are all pleased, I think we can say, with the result and are looking forward to our first spring with the new garden. Stephanie and Ezra were conscientious, hard working and knowledgeable and another important thing for us, local. Good folk, happily recommended!"

My mother and I were extremely lucky to be recommended to Steph and Ezra in November 2011.

A complete overhaul of my mothers small garden was required to get it up to the standard required for house letting purposes and they were both confident that this could all be done in a few days. Having been on a tight time schedule, I was worried that it would not be finished in time, but was amazed at the speed and quality of workmanship together with the updated progress reports throughout the project.

We were absolutely delighted with the finished product and would definitely recommend them to anyone who is contemplating a large or small project and is looking for that professional edge.

'Lori and I wanted to thank you and your team for the outstanding work that you carried out for us at Limnerslease.

You transformed our gardens and woodland, and created the new orchard, which are now exactly as we wished them to be.  We were particularly impressed by your knowledge and expertise and the way that you collaborated with us to give us a sense of ownership of the design. We were amazed at how much you achieved with a team of only three.  The new and restored borders now look as though they have been established for years (and are, thankfully, relatively low maintenance) and the restored footpaths, woodland and orchard will be a feature of our property for the next 100 years.''

A Joyful Transformation
Everything was very dense and overgrown, desperate clumps standing, jostling with each other for light and space. Steph and Ezra worked with great skill and respect as they unfolded what at times felt like a mini, mini Heligan. Steph's tremendous knowledge of plants quickly recognised the value of some well chosen original planting. Ezra brings great skill whether up a tree or on a digger removing enormous roots.

As the dense overgrown hedging was removed, we discovered how the garden was originally conceived. Inspired and skillful pruning and shaping brought life back into shrubs and trees and borders. Beauty increased too with the play of light and shadow, movement and as more distant perspectives opened up. Along the edge of the patio, a long curving narrow raised bed was waiting for a plan. It is now tumbling with an inspired selection of alpines, thymes, sedums giving year-round form, texture, colour and interest. As spaces opened up they became planting opportunities and quickly flourished with a lovely range of plants.

Everywhere the soil was well and naturally composted so the plants had the best chance to flourish. Some plants were moved to a different part of the garden where they would do better. A careful choice of fruit trees and bushes were planted where there was before a tall, densely overgrown mass........ And when spring came the planting of drifts of colour at the front are just a complete joy and wow and delight visitors and passers by......and now the rest of the year to enjoy..........

They listened carefully to what was wanted and needed from the garden - easy maintenance, year-round interest and wheelchair users paradise.

All perspectives in the garden were carefully considered as for the views from inside the house.  What was achieved for exceeded my expectations and has impressed many other gardeners. The work was well organised and always tidy however large the task. What an excellent find. Thankyou, thankyou.

"When we were considering how to proceed with our large, well stocked but rather overgrown, out-of-hand garden in East Devon, we were searching for local, specialist gardeners. We were lucky enough to find Stephanie and Ezra Sweet's website. The statement that they specialised in tackling overgrown gardens particularly attracted our attention.

The projects for this year (2011) were general garden clearance and tidying up before Easter, followed by extensive hedge trimming, pruning and tidying in the Autumn.

We are absolutely delighted with the the friendly, professional approach, extremely efficient working practice and expert advice on layout, plants and planting that Stephanie and Ezra brought to us and to our garden.

It has not only taken away the concerns we had on maintenance, but has also inspired us to continue to work in, enjoy and plan our future development of the garden."
